Instructions

Measure from the top of the bed's box spring to the floor and add an inch or two to allow for hemming. This will be the width of the bed skirt panels.

    • 2

Measure from the head to the foot of your box spring and add an inch or two for hemming. This will be the length of the left and right side panels of your bed skirt. Measure the width of your box spring and add an inch or two to allow for hemming. This will be the length of the final panel of your bed skirt.

    • 3

Measure the bed skirt panels on your fabric. Use a fabric pencil to mark the corners. Cut the panels out of your fabric. If you want four panels for your bed skirt instead of three, simply cut the panel measured to the width of your box spring twice.

    • 4

Fold one edge of one bed skirt panel over 1/2 inch. Then fold it over again. Pin it in place with straight pins. Sew the fold to complete the hem.

    • 5

Repeat this process to hem three edges of each bed skirt panel. The edge of each panel that remains unhemmed will be sewn to the fabric to piece the bed skirt together. Make sure the unhemmed edges match the length or width of the box spring.

    • 6

Measure the dimensions of the top of your box spring. Mark these measurements on your flat sheet and cut out this panel. This is the top panel of your bed skirt, which lies on top of your box spring.

    • 7

Pin the bed skirt panels to the top panel. The unhemmed edges of the bed skirt panels should match up with the top panel. Sew the panels together to complete your bed skirt.
