How to Renegotiate Salary for an Accepted Job Offer
Generally, once you accept the salary presented at your job offer the window for negotiation is closed. However, if upon thinking the salary over, you simply can't accept the wage as is, you may elect to renegotiate. Doing so is risky and could result in you no longer holding the position the company initially offered, so don't take the decision to do so lightly.

1
Decide if you are willing to walk away. If you are unwilling to walk away from the job in question, don't attempt to renegotiate salary at this time. It is quite possible that your negotiations will not go well, as your potential new employer may be loathe to change the terms as they have already been agreed upon.

2
Arrange a meeting. Do not make this request over the phone or via email, but instead face-to-face. Set up a meeting with the individual who made you the job offer initially to renegotiate the terms.

3
Clearly state your case. Explain why you feel renegotiation is necessary. For example, if you decided to try to renegotiate after discovering that your offer was well below the industry average, make this fact known so the employer knows you didn't decide to engage in renegotiation on a whim.
-
4
Bring data to support your increased salary demand. If your new demand is based on statistics you have uncovered, provide the evidence of your findings to substantiate your case.
-
5
Explain why you deserve this larger amount of money. Highlight specific skills that you possess that others may not, showing the individual why you are more valuable than another employee who they could likely pay substantially less money to do the same job. Only by convincing them of your value will you likely be able to get the raise you seek.
