How to Adjust the Browser Settings to Automatically Redirect a URL

Web developers may create several domains or URLs designed to automatically redirect to the same website. This is often done when a company or organization goes by more than one name. Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer are two of the most popular browsers that allow you to configure certain settings to automatically allow URL redirects.

Instructions

Mozilla Firefox

1. Click “Start” located in the lower left of the screen. Click “All Programs” and then click “Mozilla Firefox.”

2. Click “Tools” from the top menu and then select “Options.”

3. Click the “Advanced” tab.

4. Uncheck the box next to “Warn me when the websites try to redirect or reload the page.”

5. Click “OK” to save your changes.

Internet Explorer

1. Click “Start” located in the lower left of the screen. Click “All Programs” and then click “Internet Explorer.”

2. Click “Tools” from the top menu and then select “Internet Options.”

3. Click the “Security” tab.

4. Click “Custom Level.”

5. Click “Allow Meta Refresh.”

6. Click “OK” to save your changes.
