Turn off the HDTV, the DirecTV box and the home theater system before you make any connections.

Plug one end of an HDMI cable into the "HDMI" port on the rear of the DirecTV box.

Insert the other end of the cable into the "HDMI IN" port on the rear of the receiver.

Plug one end of another HDMI cable into the "HDMI OUT" port on the rear of the receiver.

Insert the opposite end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI IN" port on the rear of the TV to complete the hook up.
