How to Make Sea Clay
Sea clay body wraps and masks have become popular among both men and women. There are many sea clays available for purchase, but you can make your own sea clay for less money and with few ingredients. There are several types of clay to choose from for your homemade masks and wraps. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/4 cup sea salt
- 2 cups spring water
- 1 cup clay
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1 or 2 drops of essential oil
- Large cooking pot
- Wooden spoon
- Glass jar

Choose from several clays available through health stores. You can choose from red, green, yellow or bentonite clays.

Boil 2 cups of water in the pot. Add 1/4 cup sea salt. Allow the sea salt to dissolve completely.

Pour 1 cup of desired clay slowly into the water. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 drop of essential oil. The mixture should be a wet paste.

Let the mixture cool to room temperature. Use the sea clay immediately if possible, or transfer it to a glass jar. Store in a cool, dry location for up to 30 days.

Tips & Warnings
Take a warm shower or bath before applying the sea clay to open your pores.
Apply the clay with torn fabric strips, plastic wrap or apply directly to the skin using a brush.
If you've stored your clay, you'll need to warm it before using.
Test the sea clay mixture on a small area of skin to check for signs of allergic reaction.
