How to Make Matching Bracelets
When you want to give your best friend a meaningful gift to show her that she means a lot to you, you can give her a bracelet to wear that matches one that you can wear at the same time. Although you can buy matching bracelets at a gift shop or department store, it can seem generic. Make the matching bracelets more meaningful by creating them yourself using a few basic materials that you can buy from an art supply store.

1
Roll out 8 oz. of polymer plasticine clay, using your hands, into a coil that measures 1/4-inch wide, 8-inches long. Select any color of clay that you prefer.
-
2
Cut the coil into 16 pieces, each measuring 1/4-inch wide, 1/4-inch long. Roll each piece into a sphere.
-
-
3
Poke a toothpick into and out of each sphere to create a hole. Smooth the edges of the hole using the tip of the toothpick.
-
4
Poke the tip of the toothpick around each bead to create tiny pockmarks, and then place the beads into a single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake the beads in a 200-degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes. Let the beads cool for 20 minutes.
-
5
Paint each bead using opalescent paint, and then allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes.
-
6
Cut two pieces of cotton cording, using scissors, to measure 8-inches long each.
-
7
String eight beads onto each cotton cord, and then tie the ends of each cord together to create two identical bracelets.
