How to Shave Designs into the Sideburns
Your sideburns make a statement, since they are a reflection of personal style. Some sideburns are long and rugged, while others are short and clean cut. Look in the mirror, head on. Draw the design that you want to shave for your sideburns onto your skin using a pen. This becomes your stencil so that you can trace the outline of the design with the trimmers. Trim away excess sideburn hair so that you can see the design.

Apply the electric trimmers to your sideburns. Slowly press the edge of the blade down on the part that you want to shave out for your design. You can make horizontal lines in your sideburns, vertical lines or zigzags. You can even shave in the middle of the sideburns to make them look detached from the rest of the hair.

Wipe away fallen hair with a towel as you work with the trimmers. Keeping the fallen hair out of the way lets you see which parts of the sideburns you already trimmed.

Use the pen to mark where to shave on the other sideburn. Using the pen helps you make even, balanced designs. Compare your markings to the other sideburn and shave the same design on this sideburn.

Wipe off your hair and face with the towel. Look in the mirror to make sure the designs match on both sides.
