How to Install a Kenmore Portable Dishwasher

If you do not have space for a dishwasher, yet despise washing dishes by hand, a portable dishwasher may be the solution that you've been looking for. Kenmore manufactures many dishwashers and, although many are designed for permanent installations, some models are portable. Portable dishwashers connect to your kitchen sink, and allow you to put away the sponge and dish soap.       Wrap a towel around the aerator on the kitchen faucet, then twist the aerator counterclockwise to remove it.

      Place the two screens that were included with the faucet adapter kit into the adapter, then place the thin washer inside of the adapter. If the threading is on the inside of the faucet, place the thick washer into the faucet adapter, above the thin washer. Thread the faucet adapter onto the end of the faucet until tight.

      Turn on the faucet and allow it to run until the water is hot. Turn off the water.

      Pull down on the locking collar on the dishwasher hose. With the locking collar down, push the hose onto the underside of the faucet adapter, then release the locking collar.

      Turn on the hot water supply until it is all the way on.

      Plug the dishwasher's power cord into a three-prong, grounded outlet. The dishwasher now is ready for use.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you are finished using the dishwasher, disconnect the power cord and hose, but leave the faucet adapter on the faucet.
