How to Teach Coin Mechanisms of the TRC6000H
In vending machines, coin mechanisms function as mechanical surrogates for a cashier. They can be set to change an array of currency types and denominations for goods stored inside of the vending machine. Mars' TRC line of coin changers support both U.S. and Canadian denominations, and they can even be reprogrammed to read currency if necessary. If you've noticed that your TRC6000H fails to recognize some types of coins, you could be losing out on revenue from your customers. But with a little tuning, you can reteach your Mars TRC6000H's coin mechanism to accept valid currency.
Instructions

1
Set the vending price on your machine to its maximum, and then power it "Off" -- reference your vending machine's manual for specifics on the process.
-
2
Open your TRC6000H. Pull down the two tabs on the side of the TRC6000H simultaneously, and then pull them forward to lower the assembly and open the mechanism.

3
Use a ball point pen, or PDA stylus, to set the TRC6000H's four dipswitches. Flip switches one, three and four "On." Flip switch two "Off."
-
4
Touch the a screwdriver against the TRC6000H's two tuning pins, located in the bottom right corner of the TRC6000H internal panel. Power the TC6000H back on, and then remove the screwdriver from the tuning pins when the TRC6000H's display reads "Normal." Close the assembly.
-
5
Insert a coin into the TRC6000H for each denomination, starting from nickels and moving up to dollar coins. Pull the coin return to skip the teaching of a denomination and move up to the next one. Programming is complete once you've reached the highest denomination.

Tips & Warnings
Because the TRC6000H accepts Canadian currency, you'll need to insert a Canadian coin after you insert the U.S. coin for the current denomination. For example, you'll need to insert a Canadian dime after you insert a U.S. dime. Again, you can pull the coin return level to skip any denomination you don't wish to teach.
