How to Decorate a Room for a Party With Red and White Balloons

A combination of white and red balloons is ideal for a Valentine's day or Christmas event or for a birthday party for a guest of honor who prefers these hues. Instructions

1. Rent a white party arch for the main wall or entrance of the party space, and tape red balloons to the arch. Choose shaped balloons that fit the occasion, such as heart- or lip-shaped balloons for a Valentine's Day party or ones in the shape of Christmas bells or poinsettias for a holiday celebration.

2. Tape large white or red balloons to the corners of the room to display the red and white color scheme. Balloons with a pearl-like finish are fitting for an elegant celebration. Clusters of balloons accented with streamers will further emphasize the color theme.

3. Use a collection of small red and white balloons to tape around the main party table as a border. This eye-catching addition to the party decor is appropriate regardless of the theme. Or, twist white and red streamers together to drape around the table's perimeter, and staple a small cluster of white and red balloons at each corner of the party table.

4. Sprinkle the table with white and red table confetti to bring more attention to the color of the balloons.

5. Purchase red and white plastic picture frames, and fill them with enlarged photos that match the occasion.
