1
Push the dishwasher door shut firmly if the dishwasher is not working and wait a few minutes for the motor to shut down automatically. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker if the dishwasher loses power or does not restart on its own.
-
2
Turn on the water valve if the dishwasher does not fill with water and push down firmly on the overfill protection float in the bottom of the tub so that it slides up and down.
-
-
3
Let the dishwasher cycle finish, before opening the door, if there is water in the tub. Reselect the “Drain” cycle if necessary and press “Start” to remove the excess water.
-
4
Remove and reinstall the bottom rack if the detergent does not release from the dispenser and make sure nothing blocks the dispenser cup during the wash cycle. Use the correct amount of detergent as recommended on the detergent packaging and keep powdered detergent in a dry, cool place to help prevent clumping.
-
5
Select the “Rinse” cycle and press “Start” if there is odor in the dishwasher, especially if the appliance is not used every day.
-
6
Check the household water temperature if the dishes are not clean after a wash cycle. The temperature should be 120 degrees Fahrenheit or more. Make sure the home water pressure is 20 to 120 psi. Fill the detergent dispenser with fresh detergent for every wash and clean the spray arm or pump if it is covered with debris, paper or other residue that may prevent proper washing.
-
7
Fill the rinse aid dispenser if the dishes come out filmy, spotted or are not drying completely; however, it should be noted that some plastic items will retain some moisture even after drying. Run the dishes with 2 cups of vinegar in a glass cup on the bottom rack without detergent to help remove spots or film and select the “Air Dry” option.
-
8
Wash the dishes with 3 tsp. of citric acid crystals in the detergent dispenser instead of detergent if the dishes have a brown stain or the dishwasher interior looks brown. Repeat with regular detergent.
-
9
Look in the grinder, if there is a loud crunching sound or buzzing, to check if a hard object has fallen into the grinder. The sound should resolve in a few cycles, but removing the object is also an option.
