How to Attach a Sectional Couch That Isn't Attached

Keep your sectional sofa bound together.

Most sectional sofas aren't attached because they are easier to move and install in two or more pieces. If the feet feature nonslip grips or there is a carpet beneath the sofa, you can push the sections together and expect them to stay put. If the feet are slippery or the sofa is resting on wood, linoleum or laminate floors, use a sofa sectional connector to bind the pieces.

Things You'll Need

• Sectional sofa connectors
• Electric drill
• Drill bit
• Philips screwdriver

Instructions

1. Turn both sofa sections upside down and press the edges together.

2. Center the the sides of each connector across the space between the two sections and mark the screw holes. Use two connectors for each section.

3. Fit an electric drill with a bit one size smaller than the connector mounting screws and drill a pilot hole through each mark.

4. Place each connector over the pilot holes and secure them with mounting screws.

5. Turn the sofa sections over, position them in the desired location and line up the connectors. Press the sofas together until the connectors click.
