Instructions

    • 1

Set the project box down on a flat surface. Most boxes are formed from one piece of sheet metal, which you can bend back to a flat piece. Measure and mark the location on the project box where you want it to be bent. Draw a small line across the area with a black marker.

    • 2

Mark the other side of the aluminum project box at the same location so the bend spot can be seen from both sides. Line up a T-square along each side of the aluminum box and draw a straight line across the box with the marker, following along the T-square at the cut location.

    • 3

Line up a utility knife along the black mark on either side of the aluminum project box and score the aluminum multiple times. Do not push the knife all the way through the piece, just enough so that it breaks the surface and makes it easier to bend the aluminum.

    • 4

Grip the aluminum project box with one hand on each side and press down in the direction of the bend. Pull the aluminum in the same direction that the cut was made to achieve the proper bend. Continue bending until the project box is straight.
