How to Figure Your Zodiac Sign by Date and Location

Zodiac signs are based on the alignment of the stars at different points of the year.

The 12 Zodiac signs, sometimes referred to as astrology, have been around for centuries. The signs of the Zodiac are named for the star constellation that is present in the sky during the Zodiac month. Zodiac signs predict an individual's personality traits, both good and bad. After you determine your birth date, it is easy to find your Zodiac sign.

Instructions

1. Locate your birth certificate or discuss the time of day that you were born with a family member. While the exact time of day may have little impact on your Zodiac sign, it may be important if you are on the cusp of two signs. An individual is on the cusp if his birth date falls on a date that is near the end of one sign and the beginning of another. However, the location of your birth is unimportant in determining your Zodiac sign.

2. Find your Zodiac sign according to your birth date. The Zodiac signs will be listed according to the month the sign corresponds to. For example, the first Zodiac sign of the year is Aries, which is the Zodiac sign of those born March 21 to April 19.

   The second sign of the Zodiac is Taurus, and is the constellation in the sky for those born April 20 to May 20.

   Gemini is the third Zodiac sign, May 21 to June 20.

   If you are born from July 23 to August 22, your Zodiac sign is Leo the Lion.

   The Zodiac sign Virgo rules birth days from August 23 to September 22.

   The seventh Zodiac sign of the year is Libra, which is the sign for individuals born September 23 to October 22.

   Following Libra is the Zodiac sign Scorpio, the ruling constellation for October 23 to November 21 birth days.

   Sagittarius is the Zodiac sign for those born from November 22 to December 21.

   The 10th Zodiac sign, the sign for individuals born December 22 to January 19, is the sign of Capricorn.

   Following Capricorn is the Zodiac sign Aquarius. Aquarius is the Zodiac sign for birth days that fall from January 20 to February 18.

   Finally, the 12th sign of the Zodiac is the sign of Pisces. Pisces is the Zodiac sign for those born February 19 until March 20.

3. Visit an online Zodiac website or purchase a Zodiac book. Many Zodiac resources online are free to use. However, if you would like a more thorough analysis of your Zodiac sign, it may be best to purchase a Zodiac book.
