How to Do 1930s Make Up
Makeup in the 1930s continued the trend of bright makeup started late in the prior decade. A perfect pale complexion was considered the beauty standard on which to build the makeup look. Popular bush shades were pink and raspberry-toned. Eye shadow shades included vivid greens, browns and purples. Popular lipstick colors were rosy reds, oranges and deeper reds. Women often shaved off their eyebrows and drew on curved brows using a pencil. Petroleum jelly was then applied to make the brows shiny. But unless you're planning on doing 1930s makeup every day, it's best to leave your brows as they are. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Apply a medium coverage foundation. Use a concealer, where and if necessary, to cover any flaws. Dust on a facial powder to finish off the matte skin look.
-
2
Use a blush brush to apply a light pink or bright raspberry tone of blush to the apples of the cheeks. Blend out slightly or leave stark for a more authentic look.

3
Use an eyeshadow brush to apply a light color of eyeshadow from the lid up to slightly under the browbone. Use the same brush to sweep the darker eyeshadow into the crease to define the socket. Curl the eyelashes, add a coat of mascara then affix a set of thick false eyelashes using lash glue. Allow the glue to dry before continuing.

Use a lip liner slightly darker than the chosen lipstick shade to exaggerate the shape of your lips. Create a top lip that has a deeper dip in the center by drawing the side portions of the lip higher than they are naturally. Draw these lines out to the corner, where they should become rounded when they meet the bottom lip. Draw the bottom lip only slightly outside the line of the natural lip, and curve the corners up to meet the top lip.

5
Apply the lipstick with a lip brush. Avoid blending out the lip liner too much as you pat the lipstick over the lips.
