Recycling symbol. All logos are symbols that convey meaning.

If you need a snazzy logo design for your website, you can make one easily using Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements is a cheaper version of Adobe Photoshop that includes all the basic elements non-professional users require, including those needed to make basic logos. Tools used to make logos include simple shape, color fill and special-effects tools. If you know how to make basic shapes and colors using these tools, then you have what it takes to design a simple logo.

Instructions

Click on the font tab on the top toolbar in Photoshop Elements. Pick a font that goes with the image you are trying to project. For example, if you are trying to project a classical or "refined" image, go with a formal-looking font like Times New Roman, but if you are trying to present an "edgy" image, use a font like AR Darling. If you don't know what kind of font suits the kind of project on which you're working, look at other websites in the genre, and copy/paste their fonts into your Word Processor.

Resize the font to a large size. Do not use anything less than 36-point for a logo, since logos are meant to be eye-catching and prominent.

    • 3

Toggle the bold and italic settings to see whether you would like to have your logo font appear bold or italicized. If your logo has two words and you really want it to stand out, make the first word regular and the second word bold. Access the bold and italic settings from the font menu.

Select an image to use along with the text. Use the line, shape, color fill, and subtract color tools to make images. For example, if you want to use a small circle and two squares next to to create a professional looking logo, use the circle feature to make the circle and the rounded rectangle feature to create the rectangle (see references 3). If you want to take part of an image from a larger image, use the extract tool to trace and copy the part of the image you want, and then paste the image in next to your text.

Group the different layers you have drawn. In Elements, every new item you draw creates a new layer, so even if you have positioned the parts of your logo side by side, they won't move together when you try to move them. To group the different parts of your logo, select all pieces of the logo simultaneously by holding shift while you click on each one. Then, after all the layers are selected, click on "simplify" from the bar at the top of the screen (see references 3). Now, your images and text move together as one single image.
