How to Make a Presentation With ProShow

With ProShow Producer 4.5, create professional and impressive presentations. ProShow Producer has many features you would not see in other presentation software. Use ProShow Producer to add images, video, text and sound to slides to create a presentation. With so many added features, start with just the basics when using the program for the first time.

Instructions

  1. Create the Presentation File

      Open ProShow Producer 4.5.

      Type the title of your presentation in the show title box in the new slide options window. Select the size of your show from the aspect ratio drop-down menu.

      Select "Create" at the bottom of the window.

    Add a Background and Image

      Drag and drop the background from the background folder to slide one in the timeline.

      Double-click slide one. Select the "Layers" tab in the slide options window.

      Select the plus (+) icon in the "Layers" box.

      Select "Add Image or Video." Double-click the image in the open image file window to add it to the slide.

      Adjust the placement, size and rotation of the image using the "Preview" box.

    Add Text

      Select the "Side Opt" icon at the top of the window. Select the "Captions" tab in the top of the "Slide Options" window. In the "Captions Settings" sub-tab, you will see a variety of boxes.

      Use the "Preview" box to play the slide at any time by clicking the "Play" icon. Adjust text, picture and video placement settings in the preview box. Go to the "Text Effects" box to select how the text appears. Use the drop-down menus to adjust the text as well.

      Create a new text box by selecting the plus (+) icon from the captions box. At the bottom of the box, select which text box you are working on. In the "Captions" box, you can also adjust the color, font, size and style of the text.

      Use "Caption Placement" to select how the text is aligned (left, center, right or justified) and its position on the slide. Opacity allows you to control how easily you can see through the text.

      Use a texture or image for the text color by selecting "Off" in "Use Texture on Caption." Select "Image" then the "Browse" button. Double-click the image in "Open Image File. "Caption Interactivity" will allow you to create an interactive presentation.

    Add Sound

      Select the "Show Opt" icon from the top menu, or double-click the "Soundtrack" section of the slide show in the bottom of the main window.

      Select the plus (+) icon in the show soundtrack sub-tab.

      Adjust the volume, fade in and fade out the music in the "Track" box. You can also offset the music to start after the slide appears.

      Select "Done" in the "Show options" box.

      Return to the main window to see the soundtrack in the main timeline.

    Select the Transition between Slides

      Right-click the "AB" icon in between the first and second slide.

      Look at the preview of the slide to view a loop of the current transition selected.

      Select the transition for the slide in the main window of the "Choose Transition" box.

      Select one of the categories of transitions to narrow down the amount of transition options.

      Select "Apply" at the bottom of the window. Keep adding slides until you complete the project. To select the next slide, simply click on the slide at the bottom of the main program window.
