Swintec 2640 Troubleshooting
The Swintec 2640 is an electronic typewriter that is capable of storing text files, phrase files and format files. The typewriter has a built-in dictionary, which consists of 80,000 words, and it also includes a 300-word user-created custom dictionary. Users of this typewriter may experience minor problems that affect the performance of the device, but most of these problems can be resolved with some basic troubleshooting.

Troubleshoot an inoperable printer ribbon. If the ribbon does not move, and you cannot print, this is an indication of a worn or incompatible ribbon. Replace the old ribbon with a Swintec brand ribbon.

Troubleshoot a lift-off correction spool that doesn't correct errors. Remove the correction spool and turn it around so that the dull side faces the paper and the shiny side faces the interior of the typewriter.

Program the margins on the Swintec 2640. Use the space bar to navigate to the desired location of the margin. Gently press the "Mar Rel" key, and then press the "L" or "R" key to program a left or right margin.

Locate stored files on your typewriter. Press the "Code" and "P" keys simultaneously to access the command prompt. Type the name of the file and then press "Enter" to retrieve it.
