How to Troubleshoot a KitchenAid 4396395T
The KitchenAid 4396395T is a refrigerator water filter designed for bottom mount refrigerators. The filter is installed inside the refrigerator compartment and is meant to reduce or remove chlorine taste, cysts, odors, mercury and lead from the water. As with most refrigerator filters, the KitchenAid water and ice filter should be replaced every six months or more often if the water system is used frequently. Dispense water from the refrigerator for at least two minutes before changing the filter if water leaks when you attempt to remove the filter.

Turn the current filter clockwise while pulling if the filter does not come out easily.

Flush the system by dispensing water for at least three minutes after the new filter is installed if the water only spurts out of the dispenser.

Wait 24 hours for the water temperature to cool to the expected temperature after you change the water filter.

Reset the display if the "Order Water Filter" error message remains on the display. Press "Options" and then "More Options" until "Replace Filter" is illuminated. Press "Yes" to reset the water filter status.
