Instructions

    • 1

Plug in the hot glue gun and allow it to warm up.

    • 2

Trim away any straggling thread from the carpet with a pair of scissors.

    • 3

Peel the tape back from the adhesive portion of your carpet binding tape. Carpet binding tape has two parts, an adhesive strip that is meant to adhere to the bottom of the carpet and a finished woven edge that acts as the binding.

    • 4

Lay the carpet binding tape on the ground, sticky side up.

    • 5

Lay the edge of the carpet down over the sticky tape, lining up the edge of the carpet with the finished edging of the tape. Start the tape at the middle of one of the carpet's sides.

    • 6

Curve the tape around the corner of the carpet, overlapping the adhesive strip at the bottom.

    • 7

Continue until the binding is completely attached to the carpet and trim off the remainder with a pair of scissors. This allows the two ends of the tape to butt up against each other securely.

    • 8

Place a bead of hot glue at 3-inch intervals in the crack between the binding and the carpet. This further secures the binding to the carpet.
