How to Use the Librascope in "Final Fantasy XIII"
In "Final Fantasy XIII," knowing the weaknesses of enemies or a boss gives you an advantage during battle. The rare Librascope item, when used, shows you every weakness and the status of all the monsters in a battle. The Librascope item is similar to the Libra ability, which gives you information about a single enemy. Libra costs one Technical Point, or TP, every time you use it, whereas the Librascope item needs no TP to use.

Search treasure chests and kill enemies to earn Librascopes. If you cannot find Librascopes, reach chapter 13. Eden Pharmaceuticals opens, and they sell Librascopes for 10,000 gil each.

Find an enemy you have not battled before. Touch the enemy to start a battle.

Scroll down to "Items" when the battle starts. Highlight the Librascope. Press "X" to use the Librascope on the PlayStation 3. Press "A" on Xbox 360.

Select an enemy. Look at the icons next to its name. These icons tell you the enemy's weaknesses and current status boosts or afflictions.
