How to Get Your Computer to Ignore the Headphone Jack
Get your computer to ignore the headphone jack if you want to leave headphones plugged into the computer but still have sound come out of the computer's speakers. The sound options in Windows allow you to select manually which audio device outputs sound from your computer. When you bypass the headphone jack, sound comes out of your speakers, rather than out of headphones.

Play a song or video to test the setting. The sound plays out of your computer's built-in speakers, even if your headphones are attached. If you have two audio line-out ports and have external speakers plugged in, the sound comes from the speakers.
