How to Troubleshoot an FUH5-4
The FUH5-4 is an electric heater manufactured by the Fahrenheat company. The FUH5-4 provides a stream of heated air from an elevated standpoint -- usually mounted from the ceiling. Under normal working parameters this machine is easily maintained, however issues such as air flow blockages, a blown fuse or erroneous thermostat temperature can cause problems. Check for sufficient power entering the heater by examining the power cord entering the unit for damage or fraying. Also check the home's breaker box for any tripped breakers; reset those if applicable.

Replace the fuse on the unit if it is blown. This is another common source for the FUH5-4 failing to work properly.

Inspect the temperature your thermostat is set to. The heating process is automated, meaning it will only kick in when the room drops to a certain temperature. If the thermostat is set too low then it will not initiate -- even if the room is already cold.

See if anything is blocking the air flow. For example, the vent may be too close to the top of your drapes or another obstruction. This may impede air flow or, in the worst case, cause the machine to shut off.
