1
Position the base of the RV toilet where you want to locate it in your home or cabin. The base needs to be placed near an exterior wall to allow for adequate venting. If you are short on space, you can place the RV toilet in a closet.
-
2
Verify with the tape measure that there are at least two inches between the rear of the toilet and the wall.
-
-
3
Mark on the floor the location of the mounting holes in the base. Set the RV toilet aside and drill pilot holes in the floor with the power drill where the marks were made.
-
4
Return the toilet to its designated spot and align its mounting holes with the pilot holes in the floor. Insert screws into the mounting holes and tighten them with either a power drill or a screwdriver.
-
5
Measure the diameter of the PVC pipe using the tape measure. Measure up from the floor six to eight inches and make a mark on the wall centered behind your toilet at the measured height. Drill a hole through the wall for the PVC pipe using the power drill with a hole saw attachment that is the same diameter as that of your PVC pipe.
-
6
Attach the piece of PVC pipe to one end of the vent hose. Insert the other end of the PVC pipe into the hole that you cut into the wall. Attach the other end of the vent hose to the outlet on the back of the RV toilet.
