How to Reset a CopyTrans Evaluation
CopyTrans moves music from an iPod to iTunes while preserving song information and artwork. In an attempt to reduce piracy, iTunes allows music to be copied only one way --- from the computer to an iPod. The software is available free for a limited-time evaluation period after which the user must pay for the full version. The evaluation period cannot be reset. The only way to continue using CopyTrans is to purchase the software.

Go to the CopyTrans online store (see Resources). Buy the software with a credit card. The site gives you an activation code when the purchase is complete.

Open CopyTrans and click the "Purchase-Activate" tab at the top of the screen.

Type your first and last name into the appropriate boxes. Copy and paste the 24-digit activation code from the CopyTrans site into the "Activation Code" box.

Click "Activate." A message appears confirming the activation of the full, unlimited version.
