1
Check your Crock Pot often for cracks. Remove the stoneware and inspect it carefully. Look for chips or areas that appear damaged.
-
2
Use liners in your slow cooker. Liners are heat-resistant nylon sheets that are placed around the Crock Pot stoneware to catch small amounts of liquid and reduce burn spots.

3
Avoid exposing your stoneware to sudden temperature changes. Allow your stoneware to cool to room temperature before washing it in cold water. As with any ceramic, your stoneware can crack when suddenly cooled after being heated.
-
4
Handle your Crock Pot with care. Avoid dropping it or hitting it with kitchen utensils.
-
5
Avoid overfilling your Crock Pot with water. Do not fill your Crock Pot higher than three-fourths full.
