The Brother MFC-240C is an all-in-one inkjet printer, copier, fax and scanner. The scanner has a maximum scanning speed of 5.66 seconds, depending on the settings. Scanning documents with the MFC-240C can be done through the computer that it is installed on by accessing the software that came with the Brother MFC-240C printer.

Lift open the scanner lid.

Place the document face down on the scanner glass.

Click the Windows "Start" button.

Click "All Programs." Click "ScanSoft PaperPort."

Click the "Scan" button. Click "Brother MFC-240C" on the drop-down menu.

Click "Scan."

Click "Flatbed" from the Paper Source drop-down menu.

Click "Preview." Press and hold down the left mouse button to drag the scanning area box to the preferred location.

Click the "Scan" button. The document scan completes. Enter a name for the scanned file in the file name box.
