How to Use Seamless Aluminum Pillar Molds
Seamless aluminum molds are designed to form paraffin wax into pillar candles. Using a seamless mold prevents the need for trimming, sanding or polishing to remove a seam. Aluminum is used for its durability, and because it resists sticking or rusting. Silicone molds can also be used to make seamless pillar candles. Both aluminum and silicone molds are available at craft and hobby supply stores and can be ordered from many websites.

1
Dispense a small amount of vegetable oil onto a paper towel and grease the inside of the mold.
-
2
Heat several cups of water in the bottom pot of a double boiler. In the top pot, heat paraffin wax until melted. Stir constantly with a wooden stick or spoon.

-
3
Add color or fragrance to the wax if desired.
-
4
Sit the mold on a flat, stable surface. Pour the melted wax into the mold. Leave approximately 1/4 inch at the top of the mold.
-
5
Wrap the wick around a purpose-made wick stick, pen or pencil. Drop the length of the wick into the wax, and lay the stick across the top of the mold.
-
6
Allow the candle to cool and harden for 24 to 48 hours. Turn the mold upside down and tap the bottom. It should slide from the mold.
