How to Find a Facebook Account ID

Prior to the introduction of Facebook vanity addresses, all Facebook profiles were identified by a unique numeric ID that was assigned when the account was created. This ID is still at the heart of every user profile, but finding it can be a bit tricky. That's where the Facebook app "What is My ID?" comes in. With just a click of your mouse, you can determine your unique Facebook account ID. The account ID is useful if you are working with Facebook apps or if you just want to know how your ID stacks up against your friends, because low account IDs correspond with joining Facebook at an earlier date.

Instructions

1. Log into your Facebook account.

2. Type "What is My ID?" in the search box at the top of Facebook and click the first search result that is displayed in the drop-down menu.

3. Click "Go to App" and then click "Allow" to view your Facebook account ID. Click "Looking for the IDs of your friends?" to view the Facebook account IDs of your friends and family on Facebook.
