Instructions

    • 1

Select a location on the brick wall where the center of the hole should be and make a mark with a grease marker.

    • 2

Measure the diameter of the ducting using a tape measure.

    • 3

Hold the end of the tape measure on the mark indicating the center of the circle and extend it half the distance of the diameter of ducting. Make a mark on the wall. Repeat this procedure every couple of inches around the center mark. Connect the marks to roughly form a circle that is the same size as the ducting.

    • 4

Hold the trigger end of a hammer drill in your dominant hand and place your other hand under the front of the drill to keep it steady. Hold the drill at a 90 degree angle to the wall inside the circle you drew. Pull the trigger and work the hammer drill from the center of the circle to the edges until you have made a hole through the brick.

Install the flexible ducting through the hole and fill in the spaces around it with spray-in foam insulation. Cut off excess foam using a utility knife once it has completely dried.
