How to Hook Up a Double Monitor for a Computer
Dual monitor setups let you view your Windows desktop across two monitors. Most newer video cards include two ports for monitors, and each monitor includes a cable, so you only need to purchase the monitor to set up dual-monitor work space. After you connect the monitor to the computer, you must configure Windows to display the desktop across the two devices.

Connect both monitors to the ports on the back of your computer on the video card. If you do not have the first monitor connected, use a VGA cable to connect to the card's VGA port, or a DVI cable to link to the DVI ports on the card and monitor. Likewise, connect the second monitor using a DVI cable or VGA cable. Monitors come with a VGA cable, and in some cases a DVI cable is also provided.
