Corns are caused by friction and pressure, generally over bony prominences on the toes. If you have a persistent corn that won't go away, see a foot doctor. Neglected corns can turn into sores that can, in turn, become infected.

on 4/4/2008 How can I treat hard skin under my feet. It hurts when I walk a long distance or I wear high heels. Corn removers were of no help.
Pls. suggest some remedy for this.

on 7/19/2006 To remove corns, I use apple cider vinegar and dried bread crumbs. Make a paste from the vinegar and bread and apply to your corns before bedtime. I use medical tape and socks to insure that the paste remains in place overnight. In the morning, remove the tape and the skin will peel the corn off. Repeat if necessary. I've tried to vary this using cotton balls instead of bread crumbs, but bread crumbs seem to give the best results.

on 4/16/2007 There is a product my podiatrist recommended, it is called the Personal Pumi Bar. It is used to remove corns and calluses from hands and feet. My podiatrist said to use it between visits to his office. It has really worked. My calluses are almost gone, and I haven't used the bar very long. I know it is available online and it really is worth a try.
