1. See which books the person already has. If he or she is missing the most recent release of a favorite author, then you have the perfect gift!
2. Check out Ken Follett for some excellent historical fiction.
3. Look for Robert Ludlum and W. E. B. Griffin, authors of other top-selling espionage fiction.
4. Browse the spy novel sections of the online book stores. Many have reviews and reader comments that can help you choose.
5. Look under the mystery and thriller categories at the book store if you can't find a section called spies or intrigue.
