  • Coloring Books
  • Christmas Stockings
  • Crayons
  • Night Lights
  • Ornaments
  • Pez Dispensers
  • Finger Paints
  • CDs
  • Flashlights

  1. Step 1

Keep your preschooler entertained with videos, CDS, CD-Roms or DVDs.

  2. Step 2

Offer them action figures, a hand puppet, crayons, coloring books or small Lego sets that will keep them busy.

  3. Step 3

Give your kid a sense of safety with a cool night-light or a flashlight.

  4. Step 4

Challenge your child with small puzzles or educational card games.

  5. Step 5

Drop in a few fun things: a Pez dispenser, bubbles, stickers, finger paints or small cans of Play-Doh.

  6. Step 6

Add some twinkle to the mix with a few pieces of candy with shiny wrappers (c'mon--it's Christmas!).

  7. Step 7

Throw in a "license plate" with your child's name on it for the tricycle.

Tips & Warnings
  • Including a special ornament for the tree (perhaps with your child's name and the date inscribed) in the stocking every year is a nice tradition--when your child grows up, he or she will have a lifelong collection of ornaments.

on 1/5/2006 If your little one likes to help you cook, include a small jar with premixed ingredients (dry) for pancakes. When all of the presents are opened, all you have to do is add the wet ingredients, and you have almost instant pancakes!
For fun colors and flavors, you can add jam or marmalade when adding in wet ingredients! Or in the jar with dry ingredients, add chocolate chips or raisins!

on 11/22/2005 One should not put a child's name on his or her jacket, bike, or any other personal item that will be seen by strangers. Predators can call the child by name and the child will think the predator knows them.

on 11/22/2005 Most toddlers love the fruit snacks that are sold in small "individual serving" packages. As an alternative to candy, add a couple of packages of the fruit snacks to your little one's stocking.
