Use Microsoft PowerPoint's Outline view to easily change the sequence of slides in your presentation. These instructions work for PowerPoint 97, 98, and 2000.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Click the Outline View button at the bottom of the screen to switch to Outline view.
Step2
Go to the View menu, select Toolbars, then Outlining to display the Outlining toolbar.
Step3
Hold your mouse over each button on the toolbar to view its description.
Step4
Move a slide into a different sequence by clicking on its icon and then clicking on the Move Up or Move Down button on the toolbar to reposition the slide.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also re-sequence a slide by dragging it to a new position.
  • To display only the slide titles, click the Collapse All button on the Outlining toolbar to make re-sequencing slides easier.
  • Outline view is part of the new Normal view in PowerPoint 2000. If you're in Normal view, the outline is to the left of the screen you're working with.
