You can use Micosoft Graph to create or format a chart in PowerPoint. This built-in program makes working with charts much easier than drawing them by hand.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Double-click on the chart area of the slide to open Microsoft Graph.
Step2
Enter your information in text and numeric format in the Datasheet window.
Step3
Click on the chart to view the changes you entered or to format the chart itself, instead of the Datasheet.
Step4
Go to the Format menu and select Font.
Step5
Select the font size, style, and color options, then click OK.
Step6
Use the menus and toolbars at the top of the window to further format the chart, selecting the type of chart and how you want the information presented.
Step7
Go to the File menu and select Quit & Return (Macintosh) or close the Datasheet window (Windows) to return to the chart in PowerPoint.

Tips & Warnings

  • Preview each change you make prior to entering another change, so you can undo any unwanted changes; Microsoft Graph only allows one level of Undo.
