How to Print Selected Areas of an Excel Worksheet

Sometimes you only want to print part of a spreadsheet, particularly if you're working with a large one. These steps work with Microsoft Excel 97.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Start Microsoft Excel and open the file you want to change.
Step2
Drag to highlight the cells you want to print.
Step3
Open the File menu and select Print.
Step4
In the "Print what" box, click Selection.
Step5
Select OK to print your selection.

Tips & Warnings

  • Selecting Active Sheet will print the worksheet that is currently active.
  • Selecting Print Preview will display what you are going to print before the printer is activated.
