Things You'll Need:

  • Bocce Ball Sets
  1. Step 1

Invest some time on the Web locating bocce ball sites that offer great deals on authentic bocce ball sets. The balls are usually made of wood composition or even brass. Sets usually include a set of eight balls, a jack, and instructions for playing the game and setting up a court. For the true bocce enthusiast, these sets are worth the price, which ranges from about $70 to $150.

  2. Step 2

Visit bocce-themed websites for a variety of bocce-related items, including a measuring device that will make disputed calls almost nonexistent.

  3. Step 3

Check out sporting goods stores for the best type of inexpensive bocce sets (about $34), for those weekend warrior players.

Tips & Warnings
  • Find out if your player has colors. For instance, a player may only play with green or red balls, for a variety of reasons. You can purchase balls and related equipment in those colors.
  • There are different sizes of balls for play; while smaller bocce balls may fit more easily into the hands of young players, they are made for the more experienced player, as smaller balls make the game more challenging.

on 7/28/2006 We didn't have a bocce ball set and wanted to give the game a try. We used a golf ball and the colored balls from our croquet set. So much fun!
