If you have an avid tennis player on your shopping list, racquetball is a perfect crossover sport and a great opportunity for a gift.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Racquetball Goggles
  • Racquetball Rackets
  • Racquetballs
  • Water Bottles With Squeeze Caps
  1. Step 1

Find out what size tennis racket grip the recipient has if possible. You want the racquetball racket to be smaller than the tennis grip. If the recipient doesn't have a tennis racket, you'll have to make an educated guess.

  2. Step 2

Choose between a rectangular racket and a teardrop-shaped racket. The rectangular racket allows the player to hit the ball when it's close to a wall. The teardrop-shaped racket tends to have a bigger sweet spot.

  3. Step 3

Make sure the racket has a retaining strap.

  4. Step 4

Choose a color. If the recipient has a favorite color, you may be able to incorporate that into the gift.

  5. Step 5

Pick up a protective cover for the racket. The cover can encase either the entire racket or just the racket head.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a basic model if the recipient is a beginner.
  • Tennis stores tend to carry a selection of racquetball rackets.
  • A gym with racquetball courts will often have a store that sells racquetball equipment. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will probably have catalogs you can leaf through.

on 11/22/2005 90% of players prefer the smallest grip available. Usually that grip is termed "Super Small" as opposed to "Extra Small". In addition, try to buy a graphite racquet frame, as these reduce the amount of vibration and less any chance of developing tennis elbow.
