If you can't find a craft kit to match someone on your gift list, then put together your own kit. This is usually less expensive, because you don't have to include the tools you know your gift recipient already owns.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose a pattern that's appropriate for the age, personality and level of experience of the recipient. Purchase the pattern at a craft store or download and print it from the Internet.

  2. Step 2

Buy the supplies and tools needed to complete the craft. Do not include tools and materials you know he or she already has on hand.

  3. Step 3

Add a few special embellishments to complement the craft.

  4. Step 4

Convert the pattern and tools so an elderly or disabled person can use them. You can enlarge the pattern instructions on a copy machine, for example, or select easy-grip tools, a tool caddy, or a magnified pattern holder.

  5. Step 5

Present the gift kit in a basket, box, tub, or something that can be used to store or carry the craft supplies.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to choose colors to match the recipient's color scheme.
