How to Get off a Ski Lift
Using a ski lift properly is key to avoiding embarrassing moments.

Stow any loose items.

Put on your hat, gloves and goggles.

Point the ends of the poles toward the outside of the chair, away from the other passenger. Hold your poles between your knees if you are between two people.

Hold the pole tips high, so they won't catch on snow at the lift station.

Hold the bar beside the lift seat for balance. Relax your legs and prepare to stand up normally.

Tips & Warnings
Stow your poles as you sit on the lift by sliding them under one of your legs. Give yourself plenty of time to prepare your poles and position yourself before getting off the lift.
Avoid stopping directly in front of the lift.
Avoid dropping anything from the lift.
