i have been told by a hairdresser that if one tries to comb tangles out while still wet, more hair will come out than is really necessary, hence best to do it while dry. i agree though that it seems easier when the hair is wet but for those BIG knots that kids seem to grow, combing them out dry is probably safer.

Water is good - Pretty in Pink is right on. Wet combing or brushing is much better than dry. I use The Mixed Chicks deep conditioner and comb in the shower.
