An exersaucer can be an essential piece of furniture in a house with a baby. With so many from which to choose, how do you know which is best?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Exersaucers
  • Baby Toys
  • Infant/toddler Toys
  1. Step 1

Make sure baby is ready for an exersaucer. Your baby should be about 4 months old and have good neck and head control.

  2. Step 2

Go shopping! You will find exersaucers that look like flying saucers or bouncing cars. They have trays, toy hooks, beepers and bonkers, and even water globes. Some of them have stable bases that grow with your baby. Some rock and some bounce. Most major toy chains carry a variety of exersaucers. Expect to pay $45 to $90 for the exersaucer of your choice.

  3. Step 3

Buy a model that is easy to clean. If baby spends a lot of time bouncing and playing, you will want to wash the seat cover and toys often. Check how to detach the seat cover and toys for easy cleaning.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buy plastic toy hooks to attach toys to the seat.
  • Choose a model that you can travel with easily .
  • Check recalls before letting your child play in a borrowed or used exersaucer.
  • Steer clear of walkers with wheels. Several walker-related accidents are reported every year.
  • Avoid using a long string to attach toys to the exersaucer.
