    • 3

Arrange toys in ice cube trays or other molds.

    • 4

Slice the soap into smallish pieces.

    • 5

Put soap pieces into a heavy-duty plastic bag and seal it.

    • 6

      Boil water in a saucepan.

    • 7

Put the plastic bag into the boiling water until the soap melts.

    • 8

Pour the melted soap over the toys in the molds.

    • 9

Allow the soap to cool and harden before removing it from the molds.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plastic toys work well.

  • Using a double boiler might be safer than using a bag.

  • This activity is not for children. Hot soap and boiling water can be dangerous; small children may choke on small toys.

If you snip off a little of the bag at the bottom corner, you can control the flow of the soap better while you're pouring it into molds. Remember, though, the bag will be as hot as the melted soap is.
