Dress your entryway with an angelic theme during the Christmas season. Here are some ideas.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Christmas Garlands
  • Christmas Trees
  • Christmas Wreaths
  • Angel Christmas Tree Ornaments
  • Angel-theme Throws
  • Angels
  • Fabrics
  • Quilt Batting
  • Reindeer
  • Snow Paint
  • Votive Candleholders
  • Votive Candles
  • White Poinsettias
  • Feathers
  • Monofilament Line
  1. Step 1

Set the stage for an angel vignette that will be seen immediately by arriving guests. Puddle a white bedsheet; satin, metallic gold or silver cloth; or quilt batting on the floor.

  2. Step 2

Arrange the vignette on your stage. It could be a trio of singing angels; a single angel flanked by two reindeer; an angel, a reindeer and a small white or flocked Christmas tree; an angel surrounded by pots of white poinsettias; or any other angel scene you'd like to create.

  3. Step 3

Scatter a few small, curled white feathers on the stage to hint at angel wings.

  4. Step 4

Toss an angel-theme Christmas throw atop a table, chest or chair in the entryway.

  5. Step 5

Add a stuffed angel or angel doll to the seating. It could be posed angel-on-my-shoulder style if it's atop the back of a chair.

  6. Step 6

Incorporate angel decor on the top of a table, chest or console in the entryway. For example, a large white ceramic angel could be surrounded by votive candles flickering in simple candleholders, or a group of country-style angels could nestle in a big basket full of excelsior.

  7. Step 7

Decorate the interior side of the door with an angel wreath. You can make your own by wiring or gluing angel ornaments to a craft-store wreath of white "greenery" or white silk poinsettias.

  8. Step 8

Dust the windows lightly with snow paint to add to the mystique.

  9. Step 9

Use nylon monofilament line (fishing line) to suspend an angel from the center of the entryway ceiling or the light fixture.

  10. Step 10

Add angels to your banister if it's part of the entryway. You could hang angel ornaments between the banister spindles, or top the handrail with several rows of garland and nestle in the angels.

Tips & Warnings
  • Angel ambience tends to be best if you keep the color scheme mostly white, ivory and pale beige, perhaps with a touch of gold or silver.

on 11/22/2005 Use a pedestal or small table and wrap touille up the base with a white string of white mini lights inside. Take a gold or silver wreath and lay it down on the pedestal with white mini lights coming from underneath the wreath, then place your angel in the center.
