With the right keyboard command, you can flush your DNS cache and reset wait times.

Megavideo's video database cuts off unregistered users after 72 minutes of free video. Once you reach this limit, you need to wait 54 minutes to begin enjoying videos again. Rather than sitting through this lengthy wait or upgrading to a paid membership, you can manipulate your computer's Domain Name System cache to avoid waiting. The Windows command prompt interface provides the tools you need for a complete cache flush and refreshed wait time.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click on the Windows orb.

    • 2

      Click on "All Programs."

    • 3

      Click on the "Accessories" folder.

    • 4

      Right-click on "Command Prompt."

    • 5

Click on the "Run as administrator" option. Enter your password if prompted for it at this time. The Windows Command Prompt opens in a new window.

    • 6

Type the following text into the command prompt window: ipconfig /flushdns.

    • 7

Press the "Enter" key to execute the command.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you flush the DNS cache, you're logged out of any email programs, social networking sites or forums in which you participate. Even if you select "Remember me" or "Keep me logged in," flushing the cache will log you out.
