Blinds help to preserve your privacy in your home, but they also tend to collect dust and dirt over time. If you've ever tried cleaning the slats of your blinds one by one, you know that this is quite a chore. An easier alternative to cleaning your blinds is to bleach them all at once. Use a soaking solution with bleach as the active ingredient to clean and disinfect your blinds at the same time.

Things You'll Need

  • Tub
  • Gloves
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Scrub brush

Remove the blinds from the bracket at the top of the window.

Fill the tub half full of hot water. Add 1 cup of chlorine bleach to the water.

Place the blinds in the tub to soak for about 30 minutes.

Drain the tub.

Wet a cleaning brush and squirt a few drops of liquid dish soap onto the brush.

Brush the slats of the blinds to remove any remaining debris.

Rinse the blinds and hang them to dry.
