1
Paint the walls as a cost-effective way of radically changing the look of the room. Use red if desired, but it may be overwhelming for a small nursery, and your other ladybug decorations won't pop as much. Instead, use cream or light green. The green will mimic a plant or garden, making it a natural fit with the ladybug theme.

2
Paint or stencil a ladybug border around the top of the walls. Alternatively, purchase a ladybug border at the store and affix to the wall. Paint a few ladybugs on the walls in random placement if you don't want an entire border.

Put ladybug accessories around the room. For example, find or make a lampshade that is red with black spots. Buy or make a crib skirt that has ladybugs on it. Add curtains or throw pillows that have a ladybug theme. Don't go overboard; a few well-placed items can pack more of a punch than making everything red and black.

4
Purchase a red circular floor rug for the middle of the room. Not only will it add to the room decor, it will be a great place for the baby to play once she gets a little older.

5
Add a real or fake tree to the room. A potted tree standing in a corner will add a pop of green to the room. If you don't want or have room for an entire tree, hang a few artificial vines along the walls of the room. It will still give the space a green garden look without taking up floor space.

Tips & Warnings
Start well in advance of the baby's birth so you have plenty of time to complete the nursery.
Ladybugs are simply red ovals; paint a black line down the middle and add black spots.
Pregnancy women should not breathe in paint fumes; try to get someone else to do the wall painting.
