How to Make Cute Corsages for Hostesses
Wearing a corsage at a party is an easy way to let your guests know who the hostess is. Fortunately, making a cute corsage can save you more money than if you had ordered it finished from a florist. Creating a professional looking corsage is easier than you might think, and when you are in charge, you can get creative with it. Although corsages are traditionally made of flowers or ribbon, you can use anything from feathers to sprays of fake berries to make it unique. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Select the main flower pieces for the corsage in groups of three to five. An uneven number will make your corsage asymmetrical. Trim the flowers close to the base, leaving about half the stem in.
-
2
Cut a 6- to 8-inch piece of wire and poke it through the base of the flower. Loop the wire back around and secure it by twisting.

3
Attach your filler material of choice, such as baby's breath, feathers or ferns, to the base of the flower. Secure it with florist's tape down the length of the wire. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remaining flowers.

4
Make a triangular design with three of the finished flower groups. Secure them together at the base of the triangle, where the wires meet. If you have five flowers total, you can then secure the other two underneath the triangle in the same manner. Make sure all the wire is covered with florist's tape.
-
5
Loop a ribbon around the base and tie it in a bow. Alternatively, allow it to stream down decoratively.
-
6
Secure the finished corsage to the left-hand side of the hostess's chest with the top even with her collar bone.
