How to Change the Size of a Picture to Send It Through Windows Live Hotmail
The Windows Live Hotmail client offers a way for you to share images with your email contacts, but sometimes your pictures are just too large or don't fit your recipient's requirements. Take advantage of another Windows product, Paint, to resize the picture. Paint comes with all Windows operating systems, and is found in the Accessories folder. With guides in place to ensure your changed image doesn't get out of proportion, Paint offers a quick way to start sharing your pictures on Hotmail.

Click the "Percentage" radio button at the top of the window.

6
Click in either the top "Horizontal" or "Vertical" box. Type a new number, one that is smaller than 100. You should not try to enlarge an image, as it can destroy the picture's integrity and make it look completely distorted. Paint will auto-adjust the other dimension box to keep it in proportion.

7
Click the "OK" button. Paint resizes the picture. Click the Paint button's drop-down and select "Save As." Enter a new name for the file so as not to overwrite the original. Click "Save."
